Kathmandu, October 5
The Election Commission has sought clarifications from Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev and Nepal Reconstruction Authority Chief Executive Officer Govinda Raj Pokharel claiming their activities violated the election code of conduct.
The Commission has ordered Dev to come in person to the Commission and furnish the constitutional body with the clarification within next 24 hours on why he transferred Civial Aviation Authority of Nepal’s Director General Sanjiv Gautam.
Likewise, Pokharel has been accused of taking part in various programmes organised by the Nepali Congress in Pyuthan district. He has been called to leave the district at the earliest and submit the clarification within next 24 hours.
Pokharel is in the district for over one week.
The party’s district committee has recommended Pokharel’s name for the candidacy in upcoming House of Representatives elections.
