Education Commission report will be made public: Minister

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel says the government will make public the report submitted by the High Level National Education Commission.

Responding to a query of lawmaker Radheshyam Adhikari at a meeting of the National Assembly today, the Minister said the report would be make public soon.

Minister Pokharel stated that the 500-page report would lay foundation for the National Education Policy and new acts related to education.

Stating that the new Education Act would replace the current Education Policy, he informed that the report was yet to be made public as it was under deliberations in the Council of Ministers after handing over it to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Furthermore, the Education Minister shared that around 400 local units had seen establishment of educational institutions as per the government’s policy of technical educational institution in all 753 local units while 481 schools were launching vocational education.

According to him, efforts were on to coordinate with various universities to produce human resources needed for imparting vocational education and scholarship was being commissioned by the Chinese government to the Nepali students.
