Door to govt is always open for RJPN, but we aren’t interested: Yadav

Kathmandu, November 26

The Madhes-centric Rastriya Janata Party Nepal’s presidium member Raj Kishor Yadav says Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has kept the door to government open for the party though the party is not interested to join the government anytime soon.

Yadav’s statement comes after media reported that another Madhes-centric party, Samajwadi Party Nepal, which is currently in the government, is reluctant to come out as it fears the RJPN could replace its role and the RJPN-NCP partnership can topple the Samajwadi Party-led government in Province 2.

In an interview with Onlinekhabar, Yadav says, “It’s up to the Samajwadi Party whether they stay in the government. But, saying ‘we will not leave the government, else the RJPN comes in otherwise’ is an indication of their mental backwardness.”

“We don’t need to wait for their exit. If the RJPN wishes, it does not matter whether they are in the government or not,” he claims, “The prime minister has called us repeatedly to join the government and work together.”
