Dahal will follow me because communist centre is impossible, says Bhattarai

Kathmandu, November 14

Former Prime Minister and Naya Shakti Party Nepal chief Baburm Bhattarai says his former comrade and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will leave the Maoist ideology and follow his path of socio-economic transformation some day.

Bhattarai claims that Dahal has also already realised that forming a unified communist centre by merging leftist parties and implementing the communist agendas have already turned impossible. Though Dahal confesses that Bhattarai’s path is more realistic, he is hesitating to accept it publicly, according to him.

“In a private conversation with me, Prachandaji [Dahal] has openly said that the path I am walking along is right and someday we will meet again.”

Speaking at a function in Sera Bazaar, Palungtar-9 of his home district in Gorkha today, Bhattarai said the Maoists wanted to leave the communist ideology completely.

He said all political sides of the country already accepted multiparty democracy and it would be impossible to establish a state-controlled economy.
