Kathmandu, June 6

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has prepared to go to New Delhi to attend the oath-taking ceremony of BJP leader Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India.

Since Modi will certainly be appointed Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, Prime Minister Dahal is also preparing to attend his oath-taking ceremony.

A source said, “Modi has invited him to the oath taking ceremony. However, the exact date of departure is yet to be determined.”

After the Lok Sabha election results, Modi resigned on Wednesday and dissolved the Council of Ministers. He is now preparing to form a new Council of Ministers. A meeting of the coalition held on Wednesday unanimously elected Modi as the leader and decided to propose him as Prime Minister for the third term.

The date for his appointment and the oath-taking ceremony by the President is yet to be fixed. According to Indian media, the ceremony is likely to be on June 8.

As soon as the date for Modi’s oath-taking ceremony is confirmed, Prime Minister Dahal is preparing to depart for New Delhi. Coordination is ongoing with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu for this purpose, the source said.

After the BJP coalition secured a majority in the Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Dahal called Modi to congratulate him. During that telephone conversation, Modi invited him to attend the ceremony. Immediately after the conversation, Modi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Dahal via social media platform X.
