At Congress parliamentary party working committee, Team Deuba secures comfortable majority

Team Sher Bahadur Deuba has bagged most of the seats in the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party’s Working Committee as well. Team Deuba won 17 out of 21 seats that were up for grabs in the election for the positions, while Team Ramchandra Paudel won only four seats.

Team Deuba won all seats save one reserved for ethnicities. Team Paudel won the seat reserved for Khas-Arya male candidate, with Rajan KC bagging 118 votes and defeating Buddhi Ram Bhandari.

Three provincial representatives from Team Paudel won the race, while Rajiv Bikram Shah got elected unopposed in the seat reserved for backward regions. From Team Paudel, Dipak Khadka (Province 1), Ramchandra Pokharel (Province 4) and Bharat Bahadur Khadka (Province 7) got elected to the working committee.

Deuba had won against Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitaula in the race for Nepali Congress presidency. Recently, Deuba won against Paudel in the election for NC parliamentary party leader.
