BIMSTEC army drill: NCP’s Bhim Rawal criticises govt for agreeing to participate

Kathmandu, September 4

An influential leader from the ruling Nepali Communist Party has criticised the government for agreeing to pariticipate in BIMSTEC joint military exercise.

Rawal, who was speaking at a programme in Kathmandu, said that the decision to take part in the exercise was against the spirit of Nepa’s constitution.

“I would like to congratulate the Prime Minister for successfully organising the BIMSTEC Summit. However, the government has made erroneous decisions during the summit about which I am forced to speak out,” said the former minister. “The government decided to take part in the drill without consulting the party and this does not send a positive message,” he added.
