Passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport can now view baggage handling on a live feed

Kathmandu, November 6

Passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport can now watch baggage handling as it happens.

To make baggage management more transparent, orderly and passenger-friendly, a live feed of the baggage drop area is now available in the baggage claim section of the arrival hall.

With this arrangement, passengers arriving in Nepal on international flights can get real-time information on how their luggage moves from the aircraft to the baggage belt. It is expected to help them keep track of their bags and estimate how long they will have to wait.

Until now, passengers had no way of knowing how long it would take for unloaded luggage to reach the claim area. Many were left confused while waiting, and the lack of information about the baggage handling process often caused inconvenience. As the activity at the drop area can now be seen from the arrival hall itself, the new system is believed to make the wait easier and more organised for passengers.

The airport expects the move to improve the service experience at Tribhuvan International Airport and make it more passenger-friendly. It is seen as part of wider efforts to raise the quality of passenger services, increase transparency in service delivery, and develop the airport in line with international standards through modern technology.
