Naya Shakti Party Nepal Coordinator and former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai insisted on democratising political parties active in the country.
At an interaction ‘Federalism Implementation: Naming of Province 3 and Capital’ held at Bhakunde of Namobuddha Municipality in Kavrepalanchok district, Bhattarai noted that reforms would not be possible without democratising the structure of the parties.
He also lambasted the current model of federalism arguing it had been put forward without preparing concrete bases.
In another context, he said Province 3 should be named in a way to keep ethnocultural identity of Tamangs and Newars, major ethnic groups in the province.
Also speaking on the occasion, Nepali Congress district secretary Dinesh Lama stressed the need to properly implement constitutionally guaranteed rights of all three tiers of governments.
