With the elections due in just a few weeks, the Election Commission is yet to kick-start its voter education programme. Nagarik says major political parties have included more women on their PR list than on the FPTP list. The paper says that the law forces political parties to have at least 50 per cent women candidates under the PR system. According to the election commission, political parties have submitted names of 3,643 women candidates under the PR system. The number of male candidates stands at 2,851.
Commission changes voting arrangement

Following an order from the Supreme Court to make use of separate ballot papers for FPTP seats in the federal parliament and the provincial assemblies. According to Kantipur, voters would now have to stamp three ballot papers. The commission had earlier made arrangement for just two ballot papers.
