The Madhesh Provincial Government has provided 12 vehicles to Nepal Police. The province’s Ministry of Home, Communications and Law purchased 12 pickup jeeps and handed them over to Nepal Police.
Home, Communications and Law Minister Fakira Mahato handed over the vehicles to police on Monday.
Minister Mahato said the vehicles were provided to eight District Police Offices and four Area Police Offices with the aim of strengthening peace and security in Madhesh Province.
The Area Police Offices receiving vehicles were named as Chandrapur, Garuda, Godaita, and Gadhaiya.
Ministry Secretary Bindeshwori Prasad Lekhak and Madhesh Province Police Chief DIG Om Prasad Adhikari were among those present at the handover event.
The provincial government stated that each vehicle was purchased for Rs 3,905,000, including VAT.
