7 transport officials suspended for registering ‘stolen’ vehicles

Kathmandu, July 20

The government on Thursday suspended seven officials of the Mahakali Zonal Transport Management Office in Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur for their alleged involvement in registering vehicles stolen from India and allowing them to operate in Nepal.

A meeting chaired by Physical Infrastructure and Transport Secretary decided to suspend Hemanta Bahadur Singh, Deepak Thapa, Narendra Raj Joshi, Tara Datta Bhatta, Mahadev Bhatta, Keshav Datta Badu and Shyam Raj Ojha.

Singh is the acting chief of the Office.

Earlier, the Department of Transport Management had recommended for their suspension.
