Kathmandu, June 16
The Kailali District Court in Sudurpaschim has remanded in custody three persons arrested on the charge of raping a woman at a Covid-19 quarantine camp in the district, for seven days, on Monday.
Earlier on Friday last week, three young men aged between 18 and 22 years were arrested on the charge of raping the woman at the camp set up at Sahid Smriti Secondary School in Lamkichuha municipality-1. Of the suspects, one is said to be a health volunteer mobilised at the camp.
DSP Prateek Bista of the District Police Office says the DPO has received an FIR in which the alleged victim, a 31-year-woman, has named the accused, and further investigation is underway.
The woman has also claimed that one of the accused also videographed the alleged crime.
