Kathmandu, December 22
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Yuba Raj Khatiwada as Nepal’s ambassador to the United States.
Former Finance Minister Khatiwada has been appointed as per article 282 of the constitution, according to a statement issued by the President’s Office.
Along with Khatiwada, former chief secretary Lok Darshan Regmi and Nirmal Kumar Bishwakarma had been nominated by the government as ambassadors to the United Kingdom and South Africa respectively. However, they have not been appointed yet while waiting for agréments from the host countries.
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has already agreed on all three names.
