Women T20 Smash: Nepal secure seminal berth after third consecutive win

Nepal have secured their entry into the semifinal of Women T20 Smash Tournament currently underway in Thailand as they won their third match also, on Monday.

Nepal have won all the matches they played, hence secured the berth while one match was yet to be played at the group stage.

The team defeated UAE by six wickets during the match today. They achieved the 106 run targets in 19 overs at the loss of four wickets. For the victors, opener Sita Rana Magar scored the highest of 37 runs.

Kajol Shrestha and Indu Barma contributed 25 and 13 runs respectively. Likewise, Rubina Chhetri and Neru Thapa contributed nine and six runs respectively.

In the first innings, the UAE won the toss and elected to bat. They scored just 105 runs in the allocated 20 overs at the loss of six wickets.

In the matches held on Saturday and Sunday, Nepal had defeated China and Malaysia by 10 wickets and six wickets respectively.

They will play their final group stage match against the hosts on Tuesday.
