The back panel also has been marketed as anti-fingerprint and anti-scratch. The fingerprint sensor has been mounted on the side with the power button and is said to be extremely fast.
Vivo Y16 weighs around 183 grams and measures 8.2mm in thickness. The phone is available in gold and black colour options.
On the front of the Vivo Y16 is a 6.5-inch, IPS LCD display offering a resolution of 720*1,600 pixels and 270 PPI density. The display on the phone is said to automatically adjust the brightness based on ambient light conditions and filter out harmful blue light to prevent eye strains.
Vivo Y16 comes with a minimal camera setup. The primary 13MP camera on the back of the phone is accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor and an LED flash. On the front is a 5MP selfie sensor with an aperture of f/2.2.
The camera modes on the phone include panorama, face beauty, photo, video, live photo, time-lapse, pro and documents. The primary camera on the phone can record up to 1080p resolution videos.
Performance and storage
Vivo Y16 runs on Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 (12nm) chipset while the graphics are handled by PowerVR GE8320. Furthermore, to improve the gaming performance on the phone, there is also an ultra-game mode on the phone, which boosts the performance of the device when enabled.
For storage, Vivo Y16 is only available in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage variant. The phone offers an Extended RAM 2.0 feature, which allows the phone to allocate and use a part of the internal memory and convert it into additional RAM to boost the overall performance of the phone. The storage on the phone can also be expanded with a micro SD card, for which there is a dedicated slot on the phone.
Battery life, connectivity and others
Vivo Y16 gets a 5,000mAh non-removable li-po battery backup. There is no fast charging system available on the phone and gets charged with a 10W charger. As marketed, a fully charged phone can provide users with up to 18 hours of HD video streaming, up to seven hours of gaming and up to 22 hours of music playback.
The phone supports dual sim cards with up to 4G network. It also supports dual-Wifi, GPS and FM radio. The Bluetooth 5.0 on the phone offers wireless pairing with other devices while the USB Type-C cable can be used for charging and wired pairing.
