Design and display

X90, X90 Pro and X90 Pro+–the phones in the Vivo X90 series–share the same design language but differ in the type of material used on the back. X90 has a glassy matte finish whereas the Pro models have an eco-leather back finish.

The camera bump in X90 Pro is a bit more than X90. The camera is kept in a ring-like structure. There is a line going in the middle which has “Xtreme imagination” written in an italic cursive way and also highlights the partnership with Zeiss, the camera company.

The corners are curved with the frame made up of aluminum. It has a hole punch camera cutout on the front with the side curved into the aluminium frame. The top and the bottom have a small bezel line, which adds to the aesthetics of the front display.

Vivo X90 Pro features a glass front with a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display that delivers 1 billion colours, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. It has a peak brightness of 1300 nits which is low in comparison to other flagships released this year.

The screen has a high resolution of 1260×2800 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio, which provides a pixel density of around 453 pixels per inch. The device’s display covers about 90.8% of the front surface, giving users a nearly edge-to-edge viewing experience.

Performance and storage

Vivo X90 Pro boasts the powerful Dimensity 9200 5G Mobile Platform from MediaTek. Its octa-core CPU includes high-performance cores, such as 1×3.05 GHz Cortex-X3, 3×2.85 GHz Cortex-A715, and 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510, while the Immortalis-G715 MC11 GPU delivers excellent graphics performance suitable for gaming and other visually-intensive tasks. X90 Pro also runs on the latest Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13.0.

Vivo X90 Pro features an ultra-large vapour chamber liquid cooling system that is designed to dissipate heat and keep the device cool during prolonged use. The VC area is a substantial 4002 mm square, which is 35% larger than the previous model, resulting in improved heat transfer and more efficient cooling.

Additionally, the total cooling area covers 56,422 mm square, further enhancing the device’s cooling performance. With this advanced cooling system, X90 Pro can maintain optimal performance even during heavy usage, making it suitable for demanding applications such as gaming. The vibration with the X-Axis linear motor with the LPDDR5X RAM and UFS deep defragmentation helps in faster operations and gaming.

Vivo X90 Pro comes equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which provides high-speed and efficient performance for multitasking and demanding applications. Additionally, the device features 8GB of extended RAM 3.0, which allows for up to 36 active apps, further enhancing the multitasking capabilities of the device. X90 Pro also has 256GB of storage, providing ample space for storing photos, videos, and other files.

Camera and V2 chip

Vivo X90 Pro’s V2 image signal processor (ISP) for the camera is a custom-made innovation that sets a new benchmark in phone photography. The V2 chip features an all-new AI-ISP architecture, which includes an image processing subsystem, an AI acceleration unit, a fully on-chip memory hierarchy, AI noise reduction, MEMC dynamic interpretation, and high dynamic range (HDR). With this advanced technology, X90 Pro can deliver stunning photos and videos with exceptional clarity, detail, and colour accuracy.
