Design and display
Vivo Y01 flaunts a modest design. The phone has a glass front with a plastic back and a plastic frame. The plastic back of the phone has a striped texture design and houses a camera panel. The Vivo branding is done neatly at the left bottom of the phone. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone which also works as a power button.
The phone is 8.28mm and lightly weighs 178 grams. It is available in two colour options: sapphire blue and elegant black.
On the front of the phone is a 6.51-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch housing a camera sensor. The display has a resolution of 1,600*720 pixels. While it has thin bezels at the side and the top, the bottom part of the display has relatively thick bezels. Furthermore, the display on the phone features an eye protection mode that is said to filter out the harmful blue rays that cause eye strains.
Vivo Y01 also has a “facewake” feature which unlocks the phone with the user’s face when the user picks up the phone and faces it.
Nothing much on the camera section as Vivo Y01 only offers a single camera on both ends. On the front is a 5MP, f/2.2 selfie shooter and on the back, there is an 8MP, f/2.0 sensor for clicking photos and recording videos. The camera modes on the phone include face beauty, photo, bokeh, video and time-lapse.
The main camera on the back can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30fps.
Performance and storage
The phone also features Multi-Turbo 3.0 technology which focuses on optimising core scenes to reduce stuttering and lagging in games. This technology is also responsible for allocating and prioritising CPU and internal storage resources, especially when many applications are running simultaneously in the background.
Vivo Y01 comes with 2GB RAM onboard coupled with 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 1TB with an SDcard, for which there is a dedicated slot on the phone.
Battery, connectivity and others
Vivo Y01 has a 5,000mAh non-removable battery backup and can get charged with a 10W charger. This power should give the users enough time to go through a day or two and even supports reverse charging.
Vivo Y01 allows dual sims that support a 4G network. The phone also supports dual-band wIfi along with GPS, OTG and FM radio. The phone uses Bluetooth 5.0 and a Micro USB 2.0 cable for connecting with other devices and charging.
Notable features of Vivo Y01 are:
- Large screen
- Eye protection mode
- Trip card slot design
- Large battery backup
- Supports reverse charging
- Multi-Turbo 3.0 technology
The price of Vivo Y01 in Nepal is Rs 13,999 for the 2/32GB variant.
