Vivo Y01 is the latest budget smartphone released from Vivo in Nepal.

The phone was recently released alongside Vivo V23 5G and Vivo Y33s. Since this is a budget smartphone, nothing extraordinary or fancy can be expected from it. However, Vivo Y01 offers decent features for its price.

Vivo Y01 features a large screen for the users accompanied by a big battery backup, making it a perfect combo for binge-watching. There is a triple card slot on the phone so that the user has no need to sacrifice one of their sims for memory expansion. This is also a lightweight phone which is easy on the hands. The Vivo branding is done neatly at the left bottom of the phone. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone which also works as a power button.

On the front of the phone is a 6.51-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch housing a camera sensor. The display has a resolution of 1,600*720 pixels. While it has thin bezels at the side and the top, the bottom part of the display has relatively thick bezels. Furthermore, the display on the phone features an eye protection mode that is said to filter out the harmful blue rays that cause eye strains.

Vivo Y01 also has a “facewake” feature which unlocks the phone with the user’s face when the user picks up the phone and faces it.

Cameras

Nothing much on the camera section as Vivo Y01 only offers a single camera on both ends. On the front is a 5MP, f/2.2 selfie shooter and on the back, there is an 8MP, f/2.0 sensor for clicking photos and recording videos. The camera modes on the phone include face beauty, photo, bokeh, video and time-lapse.

The main camera on the back can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30fps.

Vivo Y01 runs on Android 11 (Go edition) with Funtouch OS 11.1 on top. The phone is powered by a Mediatek Helio P35 (12nm) chipset while the graphics are handled by PowerVR GE8320.

The phone also features Multi-Turbo 3.0 technology which focuses on optimising core scenes to reduce stuttering and lagging in games. This technology is also responsible for allocating and prioritising CPU and internal storage resources, especially when many applications are running simultaneously in the background.

Vivo Y01 comes with 2GB RAM onboard coupled with 32GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 1TB with an SDcard, for which there is a dedicated slot on the phone.

Battery, connectivity and others

Vivo Y01 has a 5,000mAh non-removable battery backup and can get charged with a 10W charger. This power should give the users enough time to go through a day or two and even supports reverse charging.
