Kathmandu, May 6
United Democratic Madheshi Front boycotted Friday’s Parliament meeting held for prebudget discussions, accusing the KP Oli government of not addressing its concerns.
The seven parties that form the front, including Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, Tarai-Madhesh Democratic Party and Sadbhavana Party, took the move.
UDMF lawmakers had stood in protest after the Parliament meeting began. After Speaker Onsari Gharti gave him time to speak, FSFN leader Ashok Rai said they decided to boycott the meeting as the government did not address their demands. He accused the government of showing indifference towards their concerns.
