Kathmandu, March 11
One woman died and another teenage girl sustained burn injuries when a house caught fire at Kapche, Phungling municipality-4 of the Taplejung district in Province 1.
The house of Rabin Angbohang had caught fire this morning, killing 67-year-old Chulimaya Limbu who had rented a room in the house. The victim’s 16-year-old daughter Rebina has sustained injuries and she is undergoing treatment.
Rebina is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
The Taplejung District Police Office chief Bal Narsingh Rana says the fire started when a cooking gas burst. “She was also an asthma patient. The police had rescued her and rushed her to the hospital,” Rana says, “But, she died during treatment.”
The two-storey house with a zinc sheet roof has been reduced to ashes due to the fire.
