Kathmandu, June 27
A swine flu case has been detected in Kathmandu Valley once again.
A 38-year-old woman from Kuleshwor of Kathmandu tested H1N1 positive during a recent examination at the Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH), informs Dr Sher Bahadur Pun.
The woman was admitted to the hospital after she reported cold and cough, fever and breathing difficulties.
She is the first swine flu case this season whereas the second in past one year, Dr Pun says, informing a 30-year-old man in Kathmandu had caught the deadly infection just two months ago.
Meanwhile, the number of patients reporting cold and cough and fever is increasing of late.
“Infection of influenza virus is common around this time every year,” National Public Health Laboratory’s microbiologist Bishnu Prasad Upadhyaya says, “However, there is no situation to panic.”
Nevertheless, doctors have suggested that members of the public stay alert against any kind of infection.
