Kathmandu, August 28
A technical team from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment has reached Nuwakot to help prevent the spread of diseases among livestock affected by the floods.
The team visited the district to provide veterinary health services and necessary assistance in flood-affected areas and held discussions with the assistant chief district officer of Nuwakot.
During the meeting, the team briefed officials on ongoing efforts to rescue, provide relief to and treat livestock in the flood-affected areas.
The technical team also held discussions with officials at the Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Services Expert Centre in Nuwakot and handed over medicines, vaccines and other essential veterinary health supplies.
The ministry’s team said the supplies and vaccines were provided to help prevent and control infectious diseases, the risk of which is high among livestock following floods.
