Police in Saptari district of Province 2 have arrested a ward chair of local Shambhunath municipality on the charge of raping a local woman.
Laxmi Sah is the chair of ward 12 of the municipality. DSP Tilak Bharati, the spokesperson at the District Police Office, says Sah and another man were arrested on Tuesday evening after a 34-year-old local woman filed a complaint saying the two invited her to their poultry farm and committed the crime.
Police say they have launched an investigation into the case.
