RJPN obstructs House meeting again

Kathmandu, March 24

Lawmakers from the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal yet again obstructed a meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday.

The party has been demanding that the government make public the report of the commission formed to investigate into the 2015 Tikapur killing.

The party’s lawmaker Laxman Lal Karna said they were obstructing the proceeding because the government had failed to fulfil their commitment of making the report public.

The meeting was adjourned for 10 minutes by Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara following the obstruction.

This is the fourth time in the past two weeks that RJPN obstructed parliamentary proceedings.

Even though the government has said that it will make the Lal commission report public, it hasn’t done so.
