Rautahat, August 26
Police in Rautahat district of Province 2 say they have rescued 21 persons who were fallen into the Lal Bakaiya River in Gaur Municipality-4 of the district on Saturday.
Five persons are still missing and the search operation is still on, according to them. The missing have been identified as Om Prakash Chandrabanshi, Shanti Devi Sah, Indu Devi Patel, Ushma Patel and Runa Devi Patel.
The boat heading towards Gaur from Aurahiya had capsized after it hit a pillar of an underconstruction bridge. There were 26 passengers on board.
Security personnel had launched the search immediately after the incident yesterday evening. The operation assisted by locals as well is still underway.
