Rastriya Janamukti Party has withdrawn its support to the Prachanda government. Khadka Prasad Palunga, chair of the party, said his party made this move as Prime Minister Prachanda has no time to look into demands of political parties that stand for the people.

Speaking at a face-to-face organised at Reporters’ Club, Palunga said: We voiced our objection against non-inclusion of issues that concern people. As the government did not take any concrete step to address our demands, we withdrew support given to the government.

The party has put forth a 26-point charter of demands, including granting of residual rights to provinces, allowances for the jobless, identification of and constitutional provisions for indigenous nationalities, Dalits, Madheshis and women.

He said they will launch a peaceful movement seeking fulfillment of their demands.

Palunga said: Currently, there are talks about Constitution amendment. We will start the third Janaandolan (popular movement) if amendment does not incorporate our demands.
