Janakpurdham, May 2
A committee formed to suggest name, capital and official language of Province 2 has finalised its report. The committee is submitted its report to the Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut on Thursday afternoon.
The provincial Council of Ministers had formed the three member committee led by Hari Bansha Jha. The committee consulted political parties, civil society leaders and other stakeholders of all eight districts of the province in past six months.
Earlier, it was given a time of 45 days for the report.
The federal government had fixed Janakpur as the provisional capital. There was, however, a strong demand for Birgunj to be named as the capital.
