Police on Thursday released Prakash Chand, a son of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, the chief of the banned Maoist outfit. Prakash, an MBBS student at Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur of Chitwan district, was arrested among over one dozen students during a students’ protest on Wednesday.
Prakash had led the protest. Police had claimed that they arrested the demonstrators after they obstructed the smooth service delivery at the college hospital.
Meanwhile, some students sustained injuries while police used force to contain their protest yesterday. Putting forth various demands, the students had launched the protest on the campus.
