Kathmandu, February 8

In the past one and a half months, the government collected over 500,000 applications for driving licence tests from across the country.

Officials say the excessively high number is a result of the halt in the application for nine months last year due to the Covid-19 crisis, and a recent decision to remove the ceiling on the number of per-day applications.

Consequently, the applicants now will have to wait for several months for a written test and the trial.
