Kathmandu, December 27

After a gap of over nine months due to the Covid-19 crisis, the government of Nepal is reopening applications for driving licence from this Tuesday.

The Department of Transport Management had decided to suspend applications, written exams and driving tests for the licensing purpose since the last week of March owing to growing fears of the virus infection.

However, the department is now preparing to resume them while still following the health protocol issued by the government, informs the department’s spokesperson Lok Nath Bhusal.

Accordingly, transport management offices under the provincial governments now can receive applications, conduct tests and distribute licences, according to him.

Earlier, all provincial transport management offices had requested the department to reopen the applications as all other sectors have reopened now, and there are thousands of people waiting for a licence.
