Kathmandu, November 17

Few days after her husband and CPN-Maoist Centre leader Barsha Man Pun was attacked with an improvised explosive devise, the Speaker of dissolved Parliament, Onsari Gharti Magar, has been attacked in the same way in Rolpa district today.

Maoist leaders Pun and Krishna Bahadur Mahara were on a different vehicle when the explosive was hurled at Gharti’s vehicle near Bhadaure Jungle, according to police.

The leaders were going to Liwang of the district to address a party function in the run-up to provincial and federal parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, after reaching Liwang, Mahara has commented that the attack was against political principles.

The District Police Office says the attack did not cause any loss.

After deploying a team to the incident site for investigation, police have launched a manhunt to nab the suspects.

Gharti and Pun have been staying in Rolpa for last few days while Mahara had gone there from his constituency in Dang for the function today.
