OnePlus Pad in Nepal. What does OnePlus’s first tablet offer in 2023?

OnePlus recently released its first-ever tablet, the OnePlus Pad and now is available in Nepal. The tablet comes with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 giving a power-packed performance. The performance and the accessories it comes for the price have been compared to the Apple iPad 10th generation and Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Fe.

Design and display

The OnePlus Pad has a premium look and feels with an overall slim design. It is fairly lightweight weighing 552 grams. The back is of plastic with a matte finish but is a huge fingerprint magnet. The back also includes a single-camera setup in the middle. The ports include a USB Type-C port on the bottom and a three-pin metal connector for the magic keyboard. The right side has a magnet where you can attach and change the Oneplus Stylus.

It has an aluminium frame on the sides, which is flat and paired with curved edges giving a premium feel while holding. The front of the OnePlus Pad features slim bezels of equal width and includes a front camera positioned within the bezels.

The OnePlus Pad features an 11.61-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2800 X 2000 pixels. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 88.14 per cent, offering a more immersive viewing experience. The display supports a maximum refresh rate 144Hz, allowing for smoother visuals. The touch sampling rate options are 120 Hz or 144 Hz, ensuring highly responsive touch interactions. With a PPI of 296, the screen delivers sharp and detailed images. The contrast ratio is 1400:1 and the typical brightness of 500 nits.

Performance

The OnePlus Pad is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, which ensures powerful performance. It features an octa-core CPU with a configuration of 1×3.05 GHz Cortex-X2, 3×2.85 GHz Cortex-A710, and 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510 cores. It is paired with the ARM G710 MC10 GPU and operates on OxygenOS 13.1, based on Android 13, the OnePlus Pad delivers a user-friendly experience.

It is available in one RAM option of 8GB paired with one storage option of 128GB.

Camera

The OnePlus Pad is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera. It supports video recording at 720p 30 fps, 1080p 30 fps, and 4K 30 fps, allowing users to capture high-quality videos. The device also offers video zooming capabilities and supports electronic image stabilisation (EIS) for smoother and more stable footage.

For selfies and video calls, the OnePlus Pad features an 8-megapixel front camera. It supports video recording at 720p 30 fps and 1080p 30 fps. However, video zooming is not supported by the front camera. EIS stabilisation is available to enhance the stability of videos captured using the front camera.

Accessories

The OnePlus Pad comes with two additional accessories, the OnePlus Stylus and OnePlus magnetic keyboard. The design of both these accessories is very similar to Apple’s Magic keyboard and Apple Pencil. The design of the OnePlus Stylus is similar to the Apple Pencil, featuring flat edges that provide a better grip and prevent it from rolling off flat surfaces like tables.

The magnetic keyboard also includes a small trackpad which is smooth. The magnetic keyboard connects to the Pad via the three metal-pin connectors. A black dot appears while using the trackpad and its colour blends along with the app you are hovering on.

Battery and others

The OnePlus Pad is powered by a 9510 mAh (typical) battery and supports fast charging with a 67W SUPERVOOC charger. The OnePlus Pad is equipped with various sensors including a geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, acceleration sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope, colour temperature sensor, and a hall sensor.

For audio, it features a quad-speaker audio system and three microphones that serve different purposes such as calls, recordings, and interactions with Google Assistant. It includes a power button, volume controls, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. In terms of authentication, the device supports face unlock for convenient and secure access. For wireless connectivity, it is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.3 technology.

It is available in only one colour option called the halo green.

The OnePlus Pad is official in Nepal and costs Rs 66,500 for the 8/128GB option.
