NRNA factions settle disputes to avert split

nrna

Kathmandu, March 23

An imminent split hovering over the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the umbrella organisation of the non-resident Nepalis residing across the globe, has finally been averted with different factions reaching an agreement.

An understanding has been made among NRNA president aspirants Kul Acharya, Badri KC and Rabina Thapa over the issue of leadership. The two panels–led by Kul Acharya and Badri KC–had already announced separate dates for the general convention. But, now, the 10th Global Conference of the NRNA would be held after the finalisation of the election process on March 24 and 25.

Organising a joint press meet on Tuesday after the agreement at the initiative of former presidents and different office-bearers of the organisation, all three said the dispute that surfaced in NRNA had been settled and they would move ahead joining hands together.

On the occasion, it was shared that an understanding was reached to make provision for two presidents in the organisation.
