Tensions have escalated in Madhesh Province over the issue of indecent comments targeting religion and culture on TikTok.
Security alertness has been heightened in all eight districts of Madhesh, including Dhanusha and Parsa. A senior security official said vigilance has been increased due to a “sensitive situation.”
A few days ago in Janakpur, two youths named Haidar Ansari and Amanat Ansari posted a video on TikTok mentioning Hindustan. Local leaders handed the two youths over to the police, stating that the video could disrupt religious harmony.
While discussions were underway between both sides at the Khajuri Area Police Office, some youths became angry, claiming that the two were arrested. During that time, there was also an attack on a mosque. According to Dhanusha police spokesperson DSP Ganesh Bam, the person involved in the attack has also been arrested.
Protests have been taking place in Birgunj since early this morning over the same incident.
