Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the people.
During a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Minister Thapa argued that the Home Ministry’s integrity should not be questioned.
He further said those responsible behind the rape and murder of Nirmala Pant from Kanchanpur would be brought to book at any cost. The Minister however admitted that local police and administration failed to adhere to standard procedures when they began the investigation into Nirmala’s murder.
Inspector General of Nepal Police Sarbendra Khanal seconded the Home Minister to say that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
