New representatives pledge to fulfil Tinga locals’ demand

Newly elected federal and provincial lawmakers from Solukhumbu district have promised to meet the demand put forth by locals of Tingla village in the district about changing which local unit they belong to.

Locals in Ward 6 of Necha Salyan Rural Municipality have been protesting the decision to make it a part of Necha Salyan. They demand that the village be included in the Solu Dudhkunda Rural Municipality. Putting forth the same demand, the locals boycotted recent local, provincial and federal polls.

But, speaking at an interaction, House of Representatives member Hem Kumar Rai and provincial assembly members Buddhi Kumar Bhandari and Uttam Kumar Basnet said they would would take initiatives to meet the demand.

“We will take initiatives to solve their problems and give them justice,” Rai said, “We respect their protest.”
