NA team moves toward Solukhumbu for Clean Mountain Campaign

A team of the Nepali Army has moved ahead from Namche of Solukhumbu to clean the mountains including the world’s highest peak, Sagarmatha (Mt Everest). The team under ‘Clean Mountain Campaign-2024′ has headed towards Mt Everest base camp from Namche today to clean Mt Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse mountains.

Two members of the 13-member team would stay at Namche for emergency rescue, said Lieutenant Colonel at Ranshur Company, Namche, Prachanda Bikram Bharati. “We bade farewell to 11 members amidst a programme today. The team has moved ahead towards Sagarmatha basecamp”, he shared.

The team led by Major Aditya Karki had stayed in Namche for two days. The team members would interact with local people to make the campaign effective and reach Sagarmatha base camp after a seven-day trek.

The trekking route would also be cleaned up to create awareness and publicity for the campaign.
