Kathmandu, April 27

The Council of Ministers has recommended the President to summon the second session of Federal Parliament–including the House of Representatives and the National Assembly–from May 6.

Therefore, the President is expected to issue the summons within a couple of days as the Cabinet meeting held this morning made the recommendation to call the first meeting for 4 pm on that day.

The constitution requires the government to present annual budget for next fiscal year by May end. The next Parliament session should have begun 15 days before that.

Likewise, the charter has authorised the President to call and prorogue Federal Parliament sessions, just upon recommendations from the Cabinet.

Earlier, the first session of Parliament was prorogued on April 23.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet meeting also appointed Rama Devi Parajuli as the member of Foreign Employment Tribunal.
