Nepali Congress CWC to meet Saturday

Sher Bahadur Deuba addresses a Parliament meeting.

Kathmandu, May 28

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has called a meeting of the party’s central working committee for this Saturday.

The party will discuss the constitution amendment bill that the government recently registered in Parliament in order to revise the national emblem as per the new political map of the country.

The House of Representatives was scheduled to begin a discussion on the bill on Wednesday. However, it was removed from the agenda at the last hour, reportedly claiming the opposition party sought more time to make an official decision over the issue.

The meeting shall take place at 1 pm Saturday, according to the party’s central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
