Nepal Covid-19 tally: Death toll crosses 1,000-mark with 37,000+ active cases

Kathmandu, November 3

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 179,614 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,114 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,468 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 11,166 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 480,978 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 37,476 cases are active currently. Among them, 30,694 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 342 are in intensive care units and 68 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 141,134 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,004 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,142 people have been discharged whereas 20 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 78.6 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Manang and Bajura do not have any active case.

Over 1,200 people are quarantined across the country.
