Nepal Covid-19 tally: 6,734 new cases, 547 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 961, 940 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 6,734 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 14,014 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 5,747 returned positive. Likewise, 3,451 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 987 tested positive.

Of total tests, 41 per cent of the PCR and 28.6 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 38.55 per cent.

As of today, there are 30,877 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,172 are hospitalised, 139 in intensive care units and 26 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 547 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were three deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 816,985 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,623 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 143,360 people were vaccinated today.
