Nepal Covid-19 tally: 4,636 new cases, 350 recoveries, 4 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 950,245 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 4,636 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,412 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 3,703 returned positive. Likewise, 4,144 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 933 tested positive.

Of total tests, 35.56 per cent of the PCR and 22.51 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 31.84 per cent.

As of today, there are 21,584 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,048 are hospitalised, 119 in intensive care units and 26 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 350 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there were four deaths today.

Of the total cases so far, 816,003 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,617 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 320,267 people were vaccinated today.
