Nepal Covid-19 tally: 855 new cases, 385 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 34,418 as of Wednesday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 885 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 301 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 13,253 swab samples were tested. So far, 635,252 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far 19,504 people have achieved recovery whereas 175 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 385 people have been discharged whereas 11 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 56.6 per cent.

The other 14,739 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,711 are isolated in hospitals across the country. The rest 6,028 are in home isolation. Of those hospitalised, 151 are in intensive care units whereas 14 are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 9,800 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
