Nepal Covid-19 tally: 8,046 PCR cases added in 24 hours; death toll up by 187

Kathmandu, May 15

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 447,704 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 8,046 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 17,971 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 751,481 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 109,740 cases are active. Of them, 7,969 are hospitalised, 1,334 in intensive care units and 370 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,455 people have achieved recovery whereas 187 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 74.4 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 333,108 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 4,856 died, according to the ministry.

Over 650 are quarantined across the country.
