Nepal Covid-19 tally: 641 new cases, 134 recoveries, two deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 26,660 as of Sunday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 641 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 172 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 12,247 swab samples were tested. So far, 517,907 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 17,335 people have achieved recovery whereas 104 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 134 people have been discharged whereas two deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 65 per cent.

The other 9,221 cases are active currently. Of them, 8,724 are isolated in hospitals across the country. The rest 497 are in home isolation. Likewise, 100 are in intensive care units and six are on ventilators.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Humla, and Dolpa do not have any active cases.

Over 15,200 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
