Nepal Covid-19 tally: 594 new cases, 240 recoveries, four deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 14

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 25,551 as of Friday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 594 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 119 are in the Kathmandu valley.

In this period,  11,575 swab samples were tested. So far, 494,613 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 17,077 people have achieved recovery whereas 99 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 240 people have been discharged whereas four deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 66.8 per cent.

The other 7,913 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, and Dolpa do not have any active cases.

Over 14,600 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
