Nepal Covid-19 tally: 570 among 2,725 samples test positive in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 27

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 160,400 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 570 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 252 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 2,725 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 400,694 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 40,681 cases are active currently. Among them, 32,464 are in home isolation. Likewise, 281 are in intensive care units and 71 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 118,843 people have achieved recovery whereas 876 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,168 people have been discharged whereas 14 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 74.1 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Surkhet and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang does not have any active case.

Over 2,900 people are quarantined across the country.
