Nepal Covid-19 tally: 525 new cases, 109 recoveries, four deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 24,957 as of Thursday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 525 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 127 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 9,859 swab samples were tested. So far, 483,038 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 16,837 people have achieved recovery whereas 95 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 109 people have been discharged whereas four deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 67.5 per cent.

The other 8,025 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, and Humla do not have any active cases.

Over 14,700 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested. Likewise, 466 are in quarantine at home.
