Nepal Covid-19 tally: 468 new cases, 124 recoveries, 3 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, August 15

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 26,019 as of Saturday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 468 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 98 were reported from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 11,047 swab samples were tested. So far, 505,660 people have been tested in the country.

Of the total cases so far, 17,201 people have achieved recovery whereas 102 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 124 people have been discharged whereas three deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 66.1 per cent.

The other 8,193 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Mahottari, and Kathmandu have more than 500 active cases each. Sankhuwasabha, Manang, Mustang, Humla and Dolpa do not have any active cases.

Over 14,448 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
