Nepal Covid-19 tally: 97.6% recover as test count crosses 2 million

Kathmandu, January 14

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 266,546 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 403 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 246 positive cases were reported in the Valley.

In this period, 5,032 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 2,41 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 4,426 cases are active. Nepal’s recovery rate is 97.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 260,177 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,943 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 405 people have been discharged whereas six deaths have been reported. 

Over 200 people are quarantined across the country.
